Virtual Individual Therapy for Adults

Helping you overcome your internal struggles so that you can develop the life you dream about.

Anxiety, perfectionism, codependency, and low self-esteem can feel like being stuck in a prison cell where the door is wide open, yet you can’t seem to get out. You can’t seem to change these patterns. I want to help you find your way out.

As a fellow human, I understand the pressure

to perform,

to seek approval,

and to not feel good enough amongst all the highlight reels on social media.

I also appreciate the pressure you are under here in the DMV area – where what you do on the outside seems to matter more than who you are on the inside

So many aspects of this life reinforce perfectionism, codependency, and low self-esteem. Whether it be:

Higher education – where you are praised for overachieving and constantly given feedback on where you need to approve.

Professional life – where employers want you to go above and beyond, you are quickly passed over for someone more intelligent, faster, and better.

Or even in your personal life – where maybe you have been praised for your achievements and ways you are better than others or have been used your ability to take care of people’s needs.

Whatever it was – you are left with feeling like you have to live up to this outward image of yourself that has been crafted over the years, while you are left feeling less than for what is underneath the mask.

I can tell you firsthand how freeing it is to heal from low self-esteem and escape the endless pursuit of perfection and pleasing others.

I also understand the desire to get better, to want to finally find relief from your inner turmoil – to silence that voice telling you that you can’t rest, that you aren’t safe yet, that is reminding you of all your mistakes, all your faults, that people would reject you if they really knew you.

You want to feel better. To grow. To thrive. Your life can be this way.

But pursuing perfection, pleasing other people, and judging yourself first before others get a chance may help you feel safe at the moment – but it isn’t sustainable.

That voice telling you that you still aren’t good enough despite everything you’ve done is still there when you try to stop to take a breath. My passion is to help people heal that voice and begin building a richer and more rewarding life in the long run.

Hi, I’m Dr. Ann Krajewski

I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, and specialize in working with adults who struggle with Anxiety, Perfectionism, Codependency, and Low Self-Esteem.

Through in-depth therapy, I will help you feel good enough without attaining perfection, learn to value your own needs/boundaries, feel safe to use your voice in relationships, take risks, go for what you really want, and feel more positive emotions towards yourself.

My Approach

I am passionate about providing in-depth therapy. More specifically, I am a psychoanalytically-oriented therapist, which means that I believe our emotions, thoughts, and behaviors are shaped by our conscious and unconscious. I work with adults to process and explore their thoughts, feelings, memories, and dynamics that are causing them to feel stuck and unable to change.

Therapy is like solving a puzzle - together, we will take the pieces that makeup who you are and understand how they fit into the larger picture of your life.

My approach is not about directing the session or giving you specific skills and answers to your problems. I believe lasting change happens when you can uncover and work through barriers that keep you from growth, which often means that the process of therapy is about discovering your inner voice and finding the answers within yourself.

This is often challenging for those who struggle with perfectionism, codependency, and low self-esteem. The underlying nature of these struggles is the tendency to make yourself smaller and prioritize what is outside of you.

However, for lasting change, you must be open to a different way of relating to yourself, others, and the world. I am interested in more than just getting rid of your symptoms and a “quick fix” - I want to help you experience deeper healing that allows you to have more freedom and fulfillment in life.

Step One

Book a free 15-minute phone consultation here. During this consultation, I will ask you what prompted you to reach out to me and what you are looking for - if it feels like we are a good fit, I will allow you to ask me questions. Once you feel comfortable moving forward, we will talk about my fees, if you want in-person/virtual appointments, and finally, schedule the intake appointment.

Step Two

Then we meet for the intake appointment. During this appointment, I will be interested in hearing more about you and what you are experiencing. This often means I will be asking questions surrounding your current situation and history. This will also allow you to experience how I am as a therapist. We will discuss if it feels like a good fit and if you would like to schedule a follow-up appointment.

 Step Three

Now the work begins! The longer and more frequently I can work with someone, the more enriching and rewarding the work becomes. I believe true healing and lasting change take time and can be painful. I will encourage you to have patience and trust in the messy process. You are not a machine, and therapy is less about trying to quickly fix yourself and more about learning how to attend to and embrace your inner world and tolerate the complex and ambiguous nature of life.

there is no need to rush. you are allowed to ease your way into new beginnings.
